With his latest strike the Swede has now scored ten goals in fifteen appearances in addition to providing four assists. He is undoubtedly the man of the moment in Milan with his valuable contributions so far this campaign.
The addition of the Swede in the summer is one main reason Milan are now title contenders this term. Ibrahimovic is not fazed by the role of being the one player the team turns to for both goals and assists. In fact, this reliance is something he revels inWhen at Inter, the Nerazzurri were often criticised for being too dependent on Ibrahimovic. However, in the Serie A this clearly was not a problem as the Beneamata strolled to three successive titles in row with Ibra leading the attack.

The number 70 still has much to prove at Milan.Aside from the outstanding Ibrahimovic, it was the central pairing of Alessandro Nesta and Thiago Silva that were the two other star performers for Milan. Between them the two hardly put a foot wrong and they even both came close to scoring, Nesta with a header and Thiago Silva with trademark long shot.Much more, however, was needed of Milan’s full backs. When Milan were in attacking positions both Daniele Bonera and Gianluca Zambrotta failed to get forward enough if at all.
In fact, at times the Milan midfield were guilty of this also. At one point in the game, Ibrahimovic and Robinho were up in the attacking third up against six Fiorentina defenders whilst the whole Milan midfield could be seen jogging up on the halfway line, incredible.in Europe again. But, for now, Milan fans can enjoy the resurgence of the Rossoneri as a force in the Serie A.
