Default Cheap NFL Jerseys Baseball Team Fielding Positions

Tags:
Just in case you didnt know, baseball is a game that is played with a ball and bat and it has a large following of baseball fans. Okay you probably knew that. But can you name all of the 9 fielding positions? If not read on. Youve heard the old comedy done by Abbott and Costello about whos on first? While well try to keep it simpler than that.
The who does the pitching is called the pitcher. The pitchers main role is to throw the ball but he must be able to cover a ball that comes into his field space and then get that ball to the appropriate player. This is called fielding his position and includes ground balls,Famous Hats,http://www.liwucheng.com/?p=489, bunts, and running to cover the first base if the base man is pulled away.
The catchers job is to catch the ball. To do this job the catcher must wear protective equipment. This equipment includes as a mask, special helmet, shin guards,http://www.izzo.org.uk/blog.php?user...ntry_id=792038,Mulberry handbags, and chest protector. The catcher uses a special glove that is designed as a padded target. His job is to catch or block all pitches to prevent the runners on the bases from advancing. The catch must also catch pop ups into foul territory behind the baseline, and then tag out runners who attempt to score. C: ((baseball) the person who plays the position of catcher) Catcher (2). First base is covered by a first baseman whose job is to catch and field balls hit in his direction. He is also responsible for catching throws from other players in the infielder in an attempt to retire the batter and stop him from getting on base. If there is a player on the base then the first baseman must keep the player close to make sure the player doesnt steal a base.
The second baseman has the same job as the first baseman but has another important role to carry out. The second baseman has an important defensive role to field ground balls hit toward him and to stop double plays.
The third baseman is responsible for third base and has the distinct title of the hot corner. It gets this name because right handed hitters will usually hit the ball hard in this direction. The third baseman has to be able field ground balls and throw strongly over to first base. He must also be able to cover fly balls in fair and foul turf and keep his base protected.
The shortstop must field ground balls and start or turn double plays. The shortstop must have a really strong throwing arm as first base is considerable distance away.
The field is covered by three fielders. The left fielder, right fielder and center fielder. The left fielders job is to field balls in the third left corner of the outfield, while the right fielder takes care of the third right corner and the center fielder takes care of the center of the field. Outfielders are responsible for chasing down and catching an ball hit into their portion of the field. They may also be required to make a rapid and accurate throw to one of the bases or the infielder.
