Default US Tech and Cable Companies Consider Ultra-High Speed Network for College Towns

Google , Comcast and Intel are among companies considering a project to bring faster broadband Internet access to more than 30 college towns, Bloomberg reports. The companies are being courted by nonprofit Gig.U to finance ultra high-speed networks in more than 30 college towns that can transmit data 100 times faster than many services currently available, the report said. But, gucci handbags Bloomberg noted, the obstacle to creating such networks may be the multi-billion dollar price tag, on which it reports an analyst said there would be little return on investment. According to the report, other companies participating in the talks today included Time Warner Cable , Charter Communications , Cox Communications, Mediacom Communications, Verizon (VZ) AT&T (), CenturyLink (), Cisco (), Juniper Networks (), Level 3 Communications () and Windstream (). The report noted that Google has expressed its interest in ultra-high dior handbags speed networks in the past, saying in March it would introduce such a network in Kansas City next year, and last year saying it may spend hundreds of millions on such a project.
