在上一讲中我们跟您谈了生产和经济活动中的效率，也就是efficiency，包括：
1 productive efficiency 生产效率2 allocative efficiency 配置效率3 dynamic efficiency 动态效率4 interchange efficiency 交换效率
今天我们要谈的话题是 competition － 竞争。
要获得所有形式的效率，必须要有完全竞争，也就是 faultless competition。而完全竞争需要有两个先决条件：
1 有大量生产者各生产产品的一小部分。
2 产品必须完全一致,chaussure pas cher，使消费者不会对任何一个生产者的产品有任何特别的选择或偏爱。
这两个条件二者缺一就不是完全竞争。因此实际上在真实的市场当中所谓的“完全竞争”并不存在，它只是一种假 设的理论。因为每个生产者的产品不可能完全一致，消费者也一定会在购买时作出比较和选择。
现实生活中的竞争是可行竞争，英文是 workable rivalry，也叫做不完全竞争，英文是 defective championship。

澳大利亚消费事务与竞争委员会主席费尔斯对竞争的作用做了这样的解释：
The alternative to competition namely monopoly, where there's a single supplier of a good or a service and that person konwing there's not competition has the opportunity to place up prices. There's no large pressure on them to keep their costs down and to be efficient.
So it's that combative pressure that tends to attain markets react to what consumers want, to offer the best deals, and also to be technically advanced, to innovate beneath the oppression of competition.
费尔斯在谈话中用了这样一个词汇：monopoly － 垄 断。
费尔斯说，与竞争相对的是垄断。当某种商品或服务只由唯一的供应商提供给市场时，供应商知道没有竞争，就有 可能提高价格。对他们来说没有太大的压力要他们降低成本提高效率。
因此是竞争的压力使市场对消费者的需求作出回应，提供物美价廉的商品，同时也促进技术上的进步，在竞争的压 力下进行革新。
