Default Governor to dole out more grants to Conn. towns (AP)

HARTFORD, Conn. &ndash; Gov. Dannel Malloy is announcing more state economic development grants for Connecticut communities. The Democrat on Thursday is scheduled to visit Tolland, Brooklyn, Chaplin and Columbia on Thursday, where he'll be joined by state lawmakers and local officials. Clinton received 400,000 to help with downtown revitalization efforts. Branford received two grants &mdash; 150,000 to complete a pedestrian walkway and add lighting, and 30,000 to assess future housing needs. The State Bond Commission in September allocated 20 million for the Small Town Economic Assistance Program.
