Default Maine Leaves Game After Five Pitches

WASHINGTON — Mets starter John Maine left Thursday night’s start against the Washington Nationals after only five pitches because the Mets were concerned that his delivery was “not normal,More Brand Hats Sale,” the Mets spokesman Jay Horwitz said.
The Mets removed the right-handed Maine from the game for precautionary reasons, and he will see a doctor Friday in New York.
Maine resisted coming out of the game but was removed in favor of Raul Valdes. It appeared as if Maine asked Manuel what he had done, and the agitated Manuel gave him a heated response.

The Mets already have Jon Niese on the disabled list with a mild hamstring strain, and Oliver Perez was removed from the rotation because of ineffectiveness. R.A. Dickey took Perez’s start on Wednesday, and Hisanori Takahashi is scheduled to start against the Yankees on Friday in place of Niese.
