Default Players A to Z, Billy Buckner

,cheap New Era MLB Hats
Billy Buckner pitches mostly as a starter for the Arizona Diamondbacks. While Buckner has no outstanding strength (his walk and strikeout rates are both okay),Yankees Pick Larry Rothschild as Pitching Coach,Famous stars Hats, he does have two outstanding weaknesses. He gives up a good number of home runs (31.9 per 200 innings) and he gives up lots of hits for his strikeout level. That’s led to a .302 BA allowed for his career. A pitcher can survive 3.5 walks per nine if he strikeouts out a ton of batters and keeps the ball in the park. Buckner fails at the latter,Colorado Rockies Hats, and the former is either a fault of bad defense or Buckner making too many mistakes in the strike zone. The Diamondbacks ranked well in terms of UZR as a team in 2009,cheap New York Mets Hats, so I tend to believe it’s the Buckner’s mistakes.
Of course, wholesale Washington Nationals Hats, this means there is some potential for Billy to pitch better in the future. While his career ERA stands at 5.74,Cheap Cincinnati Reds Hats, his FIP is just 5.01. If indeed he’s suffered from poor fielding,Philadelphia Phillies Hats, we should expect him to pitch better in the future. If he can limit his mistakes, cheap Kansas City Royals Hats, we could see his strikeouts go up and his hits allowed go down. That’s how his minor league numbers shook out. If he can get to that level,Chicago Cubs Hats, he’ll be a decent back of the rotation pitcher.
