The basic body with the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) on Thursday directed the civic administration to empower ward officers with rights to make corrections in water charges. The choice was taken inside the view of the substantial number of complaints of inflated drinking water bills from the twin cities.

Speaking at the meeting, Pimpri-Chinchwad mayor, Yogesh Behl, said the officers in the drinking water provide division have been harassing the residents over drinking water bills. “These officers are not listening to the citizens and are sending excessive h2o bills to them. The officers are forgetting that drinking water provide is a service, not a business,” he said.
“Residents had reported delay in making changes in drinking water payments. Hence,Office Home And Student 2010 Product Key, if the power to rectify the wrong bills is given to officers on the ward level then it will be a big relief for the citizens,” he stated.
Despite strong opposition, the PCMC under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM) had introduced the drinking water meter system in 2009. The civic entire body had invested Rs60 crore for purchasing drinking water meters.
Residents from the twin metropolitan areas of Pimpri-Chinchwad as well as public representatives have expressed discontent more than faulty h2o meter systems.
Corporators on Thursday expressed dissatisfaction about the h2o meter system with the GB meeting. Demanding a probe into the matter by the civic chief,Microsoft Office 2010 Product Key, former mayor Azam Pansare asked how civic officials could distribute charges of Rs30,000 instead of Rs3,000.

Residents have to visit the PCMC office repeatedly to settle the h2o payments, but officers continue to behave arrogantly with them. Such mistakes would not have occurred if there was a computerised billing system in spot, he added.
Behl directed the civic administration to take immediate steps to resolve the issue. He also said that an all-party meeting or a special common physique meeting will be called if the administration fails to resolve the issue.
