Can’t say this is bridging the gap between me mounting one of these animals for a short trail ride and my apprehensiveness to sit in the saddle, but with each painting I do become more aware of their physique and power. I discovered a new long handle paint brush as I was blocking in this piece and decided to get more familiar with it’s smooth butter-like way of releasing the paint to the surface. I prefer ragged and worm out brushes and it usually takes a while to warm-up to a new and consider it part of the family. The brush in an Escoda Kolinsky No.4 and I think I may make it a permanent part of the arsenal.Â* Maybe I’ll even explore some of the others in the near future, but for now I’ll welcome the new member and get to know it better this week.
