Material Girl has just announced on their twitter and then on their blog that they’ve selected Kelly Osbourne as the new face of Material Girl for 2011. “We’ve had a long time crush on Kelly and featured her as one of our “cool peeps” over the summer,” the blog reads,Marchesa Auctions Off a Pretty Dress and Tickets to its Fashion Week Presentation – Fashionista Fashion Industry News, Designers, Runway Shows, Style Advice,Australia Ugg boots, “We are so thrilled.”
After Taylor Momsen was dropped from IMG,Hockey Jerseys, it was no surprise to learn her reign as the face of Madonna and Lourdes’ Material Girl line for Macy’s was coming to an end. The homepage of the Material Girl website still says that they are “desperately seeking” a new Material Girl to be the face of the brand,John Galliano Fall 2011 Men’s Nureyev For All Seasons – F, and has been asking readers to write in who they think should be the next Material Girl since January 11.
Osbourne is a great (read: safer) choice to be the face of Material Girl. Following her dramatic weight loss on Dancing With the Stars Osbourne has been killing it on the red carpet but has always stayed funny and down-to-earth (remember when she slammed her ex over twitter? she still keeps it real). Lately we’ve been enjoying her witty and fresh commentary as an E,Classic Ugg! Fashion Police co-host. While Osbourne is less of a girl than Momsen (she’s 26),ray ban sunglasses, after all of Momsen’s antics over the past year she seems much more appropriate as an aspirational face for the brand.
Apparently the crush is mutual.
